Greenwood man sentenced to prison for firearms dealing
Firearm Felony | The Southside Times - News Covering Beech Grove, Greenwood, Southport, Center Grove and Franklin & White River Townships of Indiana

Has anyone heard of this story or followed it? I couldn't find the guy's last name on a search of our site but I'd be surprised if it wasn't discussed before. I don't really have an opinion as I'm a third party and the facts are in dispute. Either way, sucks for the family.

haven't heard about it, but not at all surprised.. it's the law and I see it taking place all the time. I have turned people in for it and I will continue to do so!
I sold a gun on INGO, and I got home and within the hour I saw the gun posted on armslist and it was marked up and he was selling the gun in a "lot"
scum-bags.

the law deals with purchasing with the intent to sell, right? I know it's a gray area, but how many guns can you sell without needing an FFL? That's probably the eternal changing line of who-knows-what. "I can't describe porn, but I know it when I see it" sort of thing.

I know the story. While a lot of what the son says is true, he glossed over the fact that Donny was dealing firearms at every gun show he set up at. He was careful on who he sold to, but he still did it with the intent to make a living. If your intent is to make a living selling firearms, you have to have an FFL license. Yes there are many other vendors doing the same thing. Why Donny was targeted, I do not know other that what his son eludes to.
There is so much more to the story, I won't go into everything I know. I won't smear his name anymore than has been.

So whats your problem with this guy exactly? That he marked up the gun you sold him? Are you just whining that he made more off the sale than you did? Cause it sure sounds like it. Unless there is more to your story you are basically accusing the guy of being a good businessman. Do you know that he did not have an FFL?

I would not call the man a scum bag if you received your asking price for the firearm you where selling. I would also turn the man in if you suspect he is dealing firearms without a license.
