glock stops civilian production

was at the range today and talking to the owner he said they cant get anymore glocks in because glock has stopped civilian production until they can catch up on their military and leo orders. couldn't find anything on the news, anybody hear this?

What range was this? Certain models have been hard to get lately (right now it is G22s and 23s), but that's about the extent of it.

I agree that the BS alarm should be sounding. According to Glock, 80% of their market is civilian sales.

Glock doesn't have that many military contracts so I would be supprised if this is true.

I did hear that the US military just awarded Beretta a contract for 495,000 units. It that's true I suppose the model 92 may be hard to get for a while. Usually these contracts are for X number of units over a period of years, not all at once.

They've got several, just not with the US military.

But those contracts would be handled by different production facilities than the ones that make the guns for the US market, so the claim is still bunk.

Strong LE sales and backlog from the SHOT Show could explain why we're not seeing many G22s available right now.

Hopefully, now that Glock is producing the compact frames in GA, we will see more G23s soon. The G19 supply is already starting to loosen up; the first units with US frames are in the distribution chain.
