| The Bearded One ![]() | I am okay with Crosley and Ceraland, but Atterbury can suck it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I work across Atterbury and i refuse to shoot there anymore! I like Crosley, out of the way a little, and no one to mess with you. Never been to Ceraland-got to be a member right?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is from Ceralands webpage: The rifle & archery range are located just north of the campgrounds. The ranges are open year round subject to weather conditions. Shooting is available only when a Ceraland range officer is available to accompany you to the range unless you have completed the Firearms Safety Course. All firearms, including bow and arrows, must be registered at the Sports and Fitness Center. Please note that only Ceraland target stands may be used. Safety glasses and earplugs must be worn when using the facility. Automatic weapons are not allowed on the range. Violation of these rules may result in termination of park privileges. Rifle & Archery Range Rules. Days & Hours September - April Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Saturdays 10:00am - 5:00pm Sundays 12:00pm - 5:00pm May - August Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:30pm Saturdays 10:00am - 5:00pm Sundays 12:00pm - 5:00pm Year Round Tuesday and Thursday (Free to the Public) 9:00am - 12:00pm Holiday Weekends Closed Usage Fees $3.00 Member & Guest* / $5.00 Non-Member *Guests must be accompanied by a paying Ceraland Member in order to receive the Guest rate. No fee applies if you are a Gold or Gold+ Member, but each participant must have their Ceraland membership cards present to be eligible for the discount. Ear Plugs $0.50 Protective Glasses $3.00 Assorted Targets $0.25 My notes: 1. The shooting area is sheltered so weather is not really a concern 1A. There are benches to shoot from, as well as tables to set your gear on and benches to spectate from or sit down on. 2. It appears the range is open to the public at least the way it is written on the website for $5.00 a person. 3. The range officer policy is obsolete and no one supervises or watching anyone shoot these days. They are satisfied if you if you have had any gun safety course/instruction or just have good experience with firearms, hunters course etc. There is no time limit for the fee...basically you can shoot all day for the $5 fee. 4. There are 3 25 yard shooting lanes, 3 50 yard lanes, and a 100 yard lane. 5. It says "register firearms at front desk", this is written wrong. That means just go to desk and sign up and pay. DO NOT take your firearm inside the office. 6.Do not count on them having ear plugs, safety glasses or targets in stock. Bring your own. Basically they just don't want you shooting rapid at the range as far as rules go. If you shoot rapid it will bring the park guys down on you. 7. Use common sense, be safe, respectful of the range and you'll be fine. 8. I suggest bringing your own paper targets and some tape or staples to secure them with. I shoot at this range all the time. It is not a super duper fancy facility but it is sheltered and gets the job done and you are basically left alone to enjoy your shooting experience which is what I like. Don't quote me on the membership stuff, I would call and ask. Also remember gun range is closed on holiday weekends (this means Friday, Sat, Sun and the day the holiday falls on) Ceraland.org - Home Park phone number 812 377 6404 Ceraland is only about 5 miles south of the city of Columbus. Forget to mention: Atterbury can keep their gun range. Last edited by sporter; 06-10-2009 at 07:25. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Members of Ceraland can bring up to 10 guests without registering in advance. They only have to pay $3 per individual that way. Also there is only 2-25 yard, 2-50 yard and 1-100 yard lanes. The benches are set up for either left or right hand shooters. You could have 2 people per bench, but the rules say only 1 person per bench. A nice place to shoot, and cheaper than Atterbury. But Shhh don't tell anyone. I don't want it getting busy. |

The 3 @ 25 yards is pretty normal there when busy however there are only 2 benches at the 25. The 50 is typically 2 benches but once again another shooter could be squeezed for stand up shooting if it gets crowded. I am sure if there is an INGO shoot there we can make accommodations to get everyone shooting. Overall though the place is laid back and no one yelling over an intercom at you. OP: Please set a date/time for a shoot on a Tuesday or Wednesday and I'll probably show up. Remember most people work days so afternoon-6:30pm is probably the best time frame. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thursday would be best for me because I work 3rd ****. That way we do not need a member to get in. Yes you do not have to register your guns, all you do is fill out a piece of paper and stick in in our window. The last couple of times I have went the target stands have been kinda beat up. Tried to call maintenance, and of course no one answered. Lets try and get some ideas rolling, so we can get something set up. |
