| Squirrel Stalker ![]() | I've always had good experiences there, but did once get called down for shooting double taps. Apparently there is a 1-second rule between shots. I wasn't emptying a clip as fast as possible into the target, just nice controlled double taps (nothing hit outside the 9-ring) and certainly didn't consider that rapid fire. The RO told me to stop - right before complimenting the grouping. He wasn't nasty, even though I was inadvertently breaking the rules. I've found the guys there to be polite and have even been allowed to shoot double taps for a half hour or so right at opening when there have been no other shooters. The rule was not put in place to stop people like me shooting nice groups, but for the idiots out there shooting uncontrolled groups. Don't believe me? Check out all the patched concrete overhead the next time you are there! The facility is absolutely outstanding and I would definitely recommend it unless you are training for competitive shooting where you need to draw and shoot or shoot quickly.

![]() | Observation Its been my observation after 7 years as an RO and CRSO that some shooters are special people. The range rules do not apply to them because they are special. They never admit to a mistake because they are always right. They generally know everything so there is no possibility of them being wrong. These special people are only special in their own minds. The shooters around them know better. As Yogi Berra said You can observe a lot by watching.

![]() | in my opinion atterbury is fine, yes the ro's can be a pain in the neck, but you would be to if you had to put up with every tom, dick, and harry off the street. as for the old range, early in the morning when it was empty was awsome, if it was full hope you had life ins. and for the shotgun shacks on the hill, great people and very informative |

![]() | attebury great place to shoot. ro's are alright, givem a break. they are there all day working just like we all do at our jobs. are you happy and polite all day every day at your job? and most of us do not have to deal with the public when we do our jobs. if you do something wrong at the range they are going to tell you about it. get over it and take it as a learning experiance, they are just trying to keep everyone safe. and you should not b tch about that. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | all things considered I like going there. I gotta admit that it is the strictest range that I've been to. I don't consider this a bad thing, because you cannot be too careful around firearms. but it does take some getting used to. I think the rates could be adjusted some to be more family friendly, but thats another matter. |

![]() | Wanted to coach my 12 yr old a little so I take him to Atterbury. I wanted to shoot for about an hour, and took about enough ammo for that length of time. They charged me like 30 bucks! What??? Father & son sharing a lane popping off some .22's and it cost me $30 for an hour??? I'll make the drive to Crosley.
