![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It is a very nice range; albeit the "range officers" are A-holes. I will not go back to this range just because of them.

![]() I really enjoy shooting at Atterbury, oh and I don't mind following rules, as they are posted there for a reason...Safety. But like that which was already said, don't be surprised if the start to chime in real soon...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I agree with the above two posts... just follow the rules and everybody is cool with you. If you break the rules, expect to catch some heat (so learn from it). Comming from Indy I either go to the DNRs Wilbur Wright range or to Atterbury to shoot my long gun. This weekend at WW the first big -1 was when a guy showed up, printing his CC as I was walking back from setting targets. Then we we went hot again, I glanced over to see him getting ready to put his weapon back in its holster but pointing it just about right at me. Then later, after walking back from setting targets, two kids there with their dad are handling their riffle and pistol. WTF! Cold means cold... don't touch your weapons while I'm down range! Nothing like that has ever happened to me at Atterbury. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Glad you guys have had good experiences. My last one sucked and won't go into it again but had nothing to do with breaking rules, just with employees and their attitudes.

| Squirrel Stalker ![]() | I've always had good experiences there, but did once get called down for shooting double taps. Apparently there is a 1-second rule between shots. I wasn't emptying a clip as fast as possible into the target, just nice controlled double taps (nothing hit outside the 9-ring) and certainly didn't consider that rapid fire. The RO told me to stop - right before complimenting the grouping. He wasn't nasty, even though I was inadvertently breaking the rules. I've found the guys there to be polite and have even been allowed to shoot double taps for a half hour or so right at opening when there have been no other shooters. The rule was not put in place to stop people like me shooting nice groups, but for the idiots out there shooting uncontrolled groups. Don't believe me? Check out all the patched concrete overhead the next time you are there! The facility is absolutely outstanding and I would definitely recommend it unless you are training for competitive shooting where you need to draw and shoot or shoot quickly.
