I am not in anyway saying the gun causes the issue.
However with one small design change the Springfield XDM has surpassed Glock in the better built mousetrap category.
IMHO it should be adressed by Glock and all other similar designs but probablywill not because of the risk of appearing to admit to a design flaw.

I always thought the Ruger P89 was clunky for having to swing the extractor down into the magwell prior to takedown. Now I see it as an extra level of making sure the gun has a cleared chamber and no magazine during disassembly.

Correct me if I am wrong in regards to the XD. Pulling and releasing the trigger with the slide back does not actually "release" the firing mecanisim. You either must hold the trigger as you release the slide or pull the trigger after you ease the slide back into battery before the slide will remove during takedown.
