UltraSonic Cleaning. Anyone? - Page 2

I have the small/med unit from Harbor Freight and it is big enough for a fullsized 1911 frame. Might bring it with on some outing somewhere/time to really get my moneys worth out of. Even with the unit running the heavier grease will need some brushing and maybe a second pass. Not something for a monthly ritual. Most usefull I think to a shop working on pistols or a used gun dealer. I imagine kerosene or diesel would work best for a solution and that would be outdoors with water nearby.

I know that ultrasonic works good on brass for reloading, Wish I had one

I have a small unit. I use it about twice a year. I let them soak for about half an hour and then clean with a toothbrush. After that I use a lubricating solution that willl lubricate the entire gun.

Shot of brake cleaner, brush, then Remlube is all I do.

I keep a ammo can half full of mineral spirits. When a pistol is really dirty I disassemble it and let soak few minutes.
