Russian stuff to dry up?

So does anyone else think that supply to Russian arms, parts, and ammunition is going to dry up with them starting the second cold war?

I think a lot of their stuff has already been drying up recently, even before this whole show of force thing. IDK about Wolf and the like though, it's already had crazy price increases, and if it gets up to the cost of brass, who would buy it?

Don't really know since they have been fairly successful with their lines. ie,
Izhmash, TOZ small inexpensive rifles, their CM2 target rifles and the BB, Biathlon Basic. I have one and would like to have one of each. They are tight, a little rough but shoot great. Also, the price is right.

Just my thoughts.

The ATF nixed further parts kits on foreign military weapons, so Ak building is soon to be a thing of the past.

As for other stuff, depends on what the ATF decides and who is in charge of them...

The fear of those two statements is also causing a hoarding market and causing prices to go high.

Winchester and Remington are buying a lot of Russian Firearms.
Remington Sparton shotguns, Winchester Wildcat Rifles.

Russia needs our trade.

Source, please? Or are you talking about the "barrel ban" that has been in place for a couple years now? Kits are still coming in sans barrels, and US barrel companies are beginning to step in to fill the need. Green Mountain has been making barrels for some of the recent Century guns (Tantals and Yugos come to mind), and there are 10,000 Bulgarian AK-74 kits in the pipeline that will feature the original barrel hardware (gas block, FSB, HG retainer, etc) installed on new chrome-lined US (Wilson) barrels. Further, the Century GP-75s and at least some of the WASR-10s are being built with 1960s and 70s vintage military parts.

The "barrel ban" has hurt, certainly, but I don't see parts kits being banned altogether, unless there's been an additional ATF ruling/interpretation/fiat/decree that I'm not aware of.

The Wildcat is a dressed up TOZ but I understand it does not have the adjustable trigger as the TOZ!

I stand corrected, the barrel bans is of which I speak - a bit too loosely.

Com bloc arms (not just Russian) and Cold War era ammo will most certainly dry up and increase in cost as soon as dealers are unable to obtain it for next to nothing. A cottage industry grew up over night with AK kits coming into the US, with companies like Century that were bored during the ban, exploded overnight. Just like lots of things in this world: AKs AVAILBLE for importation in the form of kits or what not are finite. Governments make X amount of something before moving onto something else. There are X amount of Mosins and X amount of rounds of surplus ammo. I felt more comfortable blasting a box of Wolf compared to blasting a sleeve of Bulgarian milsurp becuase the Wolf can be reimported, Bulgarian: Once it's gone, it's gone.

The thing that gets me sort of red is people blasting away with something that is finite and not replaceable as either a government will no longer import/export it (no longer made or arguements with the US) or the country of origin simply doesnt make it anymore. They will complain that there are no more of this or that, not realizing that all that wonderful 7N1 ammo they just shot up at a milk jug with Bubba and the gang was the most useful stuff on the planet, to be cherished, not only for it's history, but it's capability if the SHTF. People will complain about the prices of K31 rifles going up, but only realizing that there were only X amount of them made (500,000?). How folks ask thousands of questions about where to get pulled M2 bullets (not a combloc thing, but a surplus thing, for .308 and .30-06 guys) when they just burned up a 500 count on an old car parked out back. People that shoot up a huge amount of M855 "when it was cheap" now complaining about the price of a case of it, or how there isnt anymore Radway.

I dont mean to sound like I am telling people what to do, I meerly state that if it is from another country, or is surplus, it's limited, even if current issue with someone. Remember that when thinking of digging into a case of IMI Q3131 for plinking or shooting that "cheap" Tokarev ammo mindlessly at a target, making shotgun patterns....
