Whatever happened to those signs?

Anyone remember the signs that read something like:

"Get the UN out of the U.S.!"

"Kick the communist party out of the U.S.!"

And several more that I can't remember at the moment. Who sponsored those? Are they still posted on the sides of the road around the country?

ETA: This is just for my personal curiosity. Just popped into my mind while reading the thread about illegals possibly getting stimulus checks.

Those existed courtesy of The John Birch Society. There is still a "Get the U.S. out of the U.N." sign on east Main st. in Greenwood (or was the last time I drive through there, anyway).

I'm not sure about getting the US out of the UN, because if we did that, there would be little if anything to stop bad things from being put through. To the contrary, I think we need a very strong presence there to put a foot down and draw a line in the sand. "No. Not here. Not in MY country, Not unless you're willing to put your own life on the line to make it happen."

I think as long as there is a UN, we need to be in it to prevent our country from being steamrolled.

That said, I think the UN needs to be dismantled in it's entirety and I think that until it is, it needs to be booted the hell out of our borders. Give 'em an island... a little bitty island, somewhere out in the North Atlantic... and let them try to plot world domination from there.
