Obama administration’s love affair with the New Black Panthers

This is amazing, but not surprising. Back in November we reported about voter intimidation at a local polling place by Black Panthers in Philadelphia.

While Bush was still in office the Civil Rights Division of DOJ filed a complaint against the Malik Shabazz and two of the local NBPP radicals for violating Section 11(b) of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits any “attempt to intimidate, threaten, or coerce” any voter and those aiding voters.

Of the three, the DOJ chose to only admonish one member who carried and waived a club by giving him a slap on the wrist and enjoining him from “displaying a weapon within 100 feet of any open polling location” in Philadelphia. They did nothing regarding their racial threats, racial insults and menacing and intimidating gestures towards voters and poll workers.

Today Michelle Malkin is reporting the following:

The Bush DOJ filed suit against Malik Shabazz and two of the local NBPP radicals who were on site — one with a billy club. None of them filed an answer to the lawsuit, putting them all into default. I am told this is the easiest way to win a lawsuit. But instead of taking the default judgment that DOJ is entitled to against all of the defendants, the department last week dismissed the lawsuit against two out of the three defendants. As Election Journal (which broke the story with exclusive video of the intimidation) notes, one of the individual defendants who was dismissed, Jerry Jackson, “is an elected member of the Philadelphia Democratic Committee and was a credentialed poll watcher.”

According to a legal source familiar with DOJ procedures, dismissing a lawsuit won by default is unheard of. Text of the order [here].

So just this week we’ve found out that nearly all of the Chrysler dealers losing their franchises were Republicans, and that decision was an edict to Chrysler from the Obama administration. And now, if you’re a black extremist bent on intimidating voters, you can walk away with a little slap on the wrist.

It should come as no surprise that Acting Assistant Attorney General Loretta King was behind this, and is the same person that went on a witch hunt for Maricopa County, (AZ) Sheriff Joe Arpaio because he’s deporting illegal immigrants.

What happened to Attorney General Holder’s promise:

(1) protecting national security consistently with the rule of law;
(2) reinvigorating the Department’s traditional missions, such as fighting crime, safeguarding the civil rights of all Americans, preserving our environment, protecting our public institutions from corruption, and ensuring fairness in the marketplace; and
(3) recommitting the Department to its vital traditions of independence, non-partisanship and transparency.

What next?

Actually, looking at the included photograph, I think the situation may work itself out. Anyone exercising such poor weapons handling skills will, sooner or later, remove themselves from the gene pool......
