License Question

For anyone who cares to answer:
I'm in the process of renewing my permit, my old one was laminated, but had begun to delaminate and there is wear right at the beginning of the license number - I can't clearly make out the first digit.
What still shows is an unbroken vertical line with the wear exactly at the left edge.
If it is a number, it can only be "1", if it is a letter it can be H, I(?), M, or N.
Anybody out there have a letter as the first digit of their License number?

only numbers on mine. so probably a 1. mine starts out with a 1 as well.
