Private Sales- How much would be "Too Much"?

Was conversing with a fellow INGO member yesterday and it was brought to my attention that I do quite a few buy/sell/trade private transactions. So, I was wondering what are the rules/limits, if any, to private activity before it would be considered illegal not having an FFL? Anybody have an idea? I don't really profit from my activity, if anything I typically come out WAY behind overall. I just do it for fun and collecting purposes and to try new stuff. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Actually I believe there is no magic number. Especially if you are not in it to make a profit and conduct it as a business.

I'm becoming more and more against the concept of having a "license" to do business, carry a weapon, etc.

Two words: cash transaction.

ATF considers it a business if you use it as a form of income. Selling firearms and using the money to buy new ones, or ammo, or parts is not considered being a dealer.
