I've got a pretty sick young squirrel in the yard. Daughter found him yesterday. Lethargic, shakes, falls over, and can't really get around. Should I call someone, or wait for natural to takes its course and then bury it?

Don't know what kind of diseases squirrels can pick up, or which ones I need to worry with.

    Thoughts?

I believe squirrels can contract and spread rabies. I too would be very cautious.
Not foaming at the mouth is it?

Exactly as said. Put it out of its misery and bury somewhere where your cat and or dog wont dig it up. Thats not an option the garbage men get it

He ended up buried outside of the fence, where curious cats and children (well, MY cat and kid) are less likely to find him.

Also had a discussion with my daughter about touching sick animals. She did right by telling me about it. Wish she hadn't picked it up and carried it across the yard.

We had a sick squirrel in the backyard a couple of years ago that could only drag itself along. The kids came in and told me about it so the wife and I went out to check it out.

Well I was instructed by the wife to "Do something!" so I walked off to the garage and came back with a 21oz framing hammer....apparently that wasn't the "Something" she had in mind.:bash::dunno:

To this day I still have NO IDEA what "Something" is? But apparently her definition and mine are VERY different.:dunno:

If any of the other members can please give me the female definition of "Something" I would greatly appreciate it.
