things got a little exciting today with a coyote and a cat 30 ft. apart

cat was released unharmed. critter had a real bad attitude, i lost a leather glove to his front set of claws.

I think I'd have a thick wool blanket available to assist in releasing bobcats. Throw it over and "smother it" while working up to the trap.

the best way is 2'x2' sheet of plywood with a notch cut for the leg. cramped for space on the atv so use catch pole. like dog catcher.

We caught one a few years back. It was going nuts (as expected) as we got close but we were able to get a storage tote over it and it immediately stopped moving and never made a sound. We got the trap to release and it pulled its paw inside and just stayed there. We finally tipped the tote off and it ran off. I thought for sure one or both of us were going to need stitches before it was over.

I think that it was just wanting you to pet him. One of these days you won't have to let everyone of them catch.

I think the DNR had a picture of a bobcat in a snare in Parke County a few days ago that was released. Very cool pictures!

Hubby got another coyote a couple nights ago...nice big male but not THE BIG ONE we have seen on the cameras. I saw a fairly large one laying along route 30 this afternoon that somebody hit.

This is Gordon Wood our Warrick county CO releasing a bobcat..

Click on picture for the video..

That may actually be the one I read about on FB. It was a few days ago so I couldn't remember for sure which county, but Gordon does sound right for the CO's name. I have never seen a bobcat in our area and am not sure how close they are to us. There must be a lot more in other areas of the state.
