WTS NO TRADES Whitney Wolverine/Lightning "No Name" .22 LR Pistol
The Wolverine was engineered by Robert Hillberg, who learned about aluminum during WWII while working with aircraft guns and later became research engineer for High Standard Gun Company. Only 13,000 of these pistols were made in its short period of production and of these only 900 were silver anodized the rest were painted black, the grips came in either a black, brown, or white plastic with the frame being cast by Alcoa and the name "Wolverine" being named after Mr. Hillberg's favorite football team, the University of Michigan Wolverines. A victim of poor marketing, the Whitney Wolverine was way ahead of its time with its very unique space-age design.
This one is a "NO NAME" one of the rare "Wolverine", later, "Lightning" pistols that is neither marked Wolverine or Lightning. It was made after the Wolverine name was tossed due to a copyright conflict and the name Lightning was adopted.
$385.00 Face to Face Indy Northside. This pistol is in VERY GOOD+ TO EXCELLENT shape and is vintage Whitney with original grips and one magazine (10 rounds).
It is a totally fun pistol to shoot with a remarkably fast trigger and VERY ACCURATE.
Questions email lee.jamesb@comcast.net First I'll take it gets it. NO TRADES.
Regards, Jim
