WRTFD5479 will become famous soon enough
Why own a plastic 1911 when you can own a metal? They look and feel better! I love my Champion

Because ounces add up on a carry weapon.

The plastic Bul M5 Ultra X from Charles Daly is smaller than a Colt Officer's Model, holds 10 + 1 and weighs less than the small Colt. That combination is pretty attractive to many people. Now that said, the Para Ordnance Warthog is an aluminum framed 10 +1 sub-compact 45acp and it weighs the same as the Bul M5 Ultra X. The difference between the two simply boils down to personal choice and feel in the hand. But the Ultra X is going to be about a half pound less weight hanging from your belt, that is a 25% weight reduction.

I already own a Para Warthog, so I'm looking at the Ultra X in 9mm because I see no reason to have 2 virtually identical carry grade guns. For me, another reason I want the 9mm is that it would be nice to have something else in 9mm so my daughter has an easier time shooting.

Why do you believe that while learning something one can't also have a good time and joke around with others that share the same interest. If you get so upset over someone joking about a gun, do you perhaps believe that what they are saying may have some truth to it?

I'm fine with someone joking around. Go look back and try to find a Glock thread without a joke about exploding plastic. Jokes get tired and old, as this one has. Just repeating things over and over doesn't make them true.

And if it's not true, then don't let it bother you. But if it does bother you or anyone else, then don't read the posts posted by certain people.

I commented on hope that those doing it will find how annoying it is to others so that the tired old joke can get retired and we can try some new Glock bashing jokes like brick grips or something. Someone often doesn't know they are annoying until it is pointed out. Normally I just ignore those posts and plan to continue doing so. However, if you only stay silent, you are never heard. I'll show enough class to not joke bash in all the other threads that repeat the tired tirade.

When I was shopping for my most recent handgun I had a few criteria:

Polymer frame
High mag capacity
Unlimited (chock-a-tire) blockiness (bwaahaahaa)
Ability to withstand uber-ridiculous torture tests (no partiality given to the German adjective qualifier)

I narrowed it down to the Glock and XD. Grip angle and MY natural point of aim swayed me. I was pushed further over the edge by the sight of the XD in bitone.

I do not add the final item to imply that it should be a consideration in a carry gun (heck, half of them probably shouldn't), only to lend support to the "sexier" claim But what else really puts a "spell" on people? Fanatic adoration is what spells are all about. Different spells for different people.

You see me not hatin'
