Why I still hit small gunshows

Picked this up at the Bloomington show this past weekend. I thought it was a plain jane Model 10 until I got it home! Turns out to be a 4-screw from 1958! Big score for $250. I don't think the dealer knew it was that old either.

I love the small shows. I managed to get a Taurus 44 mag

at the one in Evansville a few weeks back. Got a great deal on a trade. The gun is amazingly easy to shhot with minimal kick due to the venting. The smaller shows also seem to be easier to get the guys to deal.

That looks very similar to the one I own. I don't know much about it though as it belonged to my grandpa and it was one of the guns my grandma let me have after he passed. It is a S&W .38 Special CTG (what it says on the barrel). Forgive my ignorance on this but what is special about the 4 screw? This gun was not in the best shape when I got it and spent a good 4 hours cleaning it one night. I've had it for over 3 years now and to this day have not shot it.

I did not even know there was a show in Bloomington, any other small shows coming up? The 1500 will be a zoo next month.
