I just ordered (2) S&W M&P Shield 40's. I shoot a lot and carry daily and this will possibly become my primary BUG.

Does anyone here have experience with them personally? Thoughts? Complaints? Praise? Problems?

It's a wonderful gun, but go ahead and order your aftermarket sights now. The factory sights are sure to fall out after a few trips to the range.

I would like TruGlo's or Trijicon's, do the standard M&P night sights fit the Shield?

I've been curious about some aftermarket sights as well.

Any comments on the big dots for the Shield? Or other suggestions?

I've done my other M&P's with a brass punch, I take it these come a bit tighter?

At least S&W is consistent across their M&P line. I had this happen to a 40c, among other things.

True Glo's were going to be my first choice, but I found the Trijicon HD used on eBay for $40! Couldn't pass that up. The front sight is the same, and the rear sight is too but seems to be just a little wider and maybe just a slight bit longer at the rear, but it fits fine.
The same guy I got my HD's from also had a set of big dots for a full sized M&P, I bought them also just to try, but the rear sight hung over the Shield's slide to much and looked bad. I will take some pictures tomorrow of the HD's and post them.

What night sights is everyone using on their Shields? I am not finding many made specifically for it.

When I was on the Smith forums awhile ago it seemed like this is what most of them were doing. I think you usually get just the slightest bit of overhang on the left and right of the rear sight, but none of them seemed to mind.
