![]() | Sig P220 I'm not much of a pistol man. Don't get me wrong I enjoy all types of firearms but prefer shotguns and rifles for hunting. I inherited 30 or so pistols and have only shot one. I have Lugers that my Gramps brought back along with some p38's and a switch and signal colt and newer stuff like a pair of stainless colt commanders and 4 beretta 92f's in the box that haven't been shot, a couple vaquero's a red hawk or black hawk or both. I think I also have a colt mustang, ruger single six and a hodge podge of other pistols. Out of everything listed above I have only shot one of the Lugers. So here is my question is a Sig p220 in 9mm para a good deal for $225? I heard that this is a pretty rare configuration. It says made in Germany under the barrel in front of the trigger guard. It is definitely worn shows a lot of holster wear and the grips are getting pretty smooth. I like a deal and I could see my self using this for home protection and range fun. All of the other pistols I have were my dad's and I would just feel horrible if I damaged them or modified them to my likings. Again I am definitley NOT new to guns I have been an avid hunter shooter collector for 24 of my 35 years. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 220 was originally chambered in 9mm. It was a service pistol for the swiss military and some european police agencies. There has been an influx of the euro version recently. Also it should say "made in W. Germany" that is a pretty good price, just make sure to inspect it before you buy it. Look at the internal surfaces the lockup, the barrel (inside and out) check the smileys they will tell you how much use it has had. If you can get over the euro style mag release (grip heel) then just grab a parts kit, send it off to CCR and slap some new grips on her and she will run like a champ. Just be careful about the holster wear, the stamped slides are made from carbon steel and will rust, so look for pitting. sigforum.com |

![]() | The P220 is at a gun shop so I know it's not stolen. I am about 99% sure that it ONLY says made in Germany. What are the "smileys"? I'm sorry but all of the guns listed above have sentimental value and therefor I cannot part with them. I will try to get some pictures on here of them someday. But 1st I have to get my wife to show me how. So far I have only been a buyer here but soon hope to be a seller also. Thanks for all of the info I think I will go get the Sig. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You sir, are a lucky bastard to inherit so many nice guns! The Sig 220 is a fine pistol and $225 is a steal. The 9mm is less desireable than the .45, most often seen, or the rare .38 Super. It's a well made and well designed gun. Just my $.02. Uhhh, if you pass on it PM me! Lol.... |
