I just got my slide from Bloomington Home and Personal Security Store back from a Cerakote job and I am extremely pleased with it.
In January, our department went to the Glock 22 as our duty weapon. Previously I was carrying my personally owned Glock 21SF. Well, after the switch, the G21 went into the safe. It had been one of the finest shooting 45s I have ever owned and I decided to do a bit of customization to it. I enlisted the help of my buddy and fellow INGO'er Bowling_R for a stippling job. Having seen a previous job that he had done to his own Glock, I knew he would do an amazing job and I was right.
It was about a 3 hour stippling job and it was really wild to see how he got the stippling so small and fine. It has the look and feel of grip tape, but not as abrasive. It's exactly what I wanted.
After I got back to town I ventured to Bloomington Home and Personal Security Store (BHPSS) and met up with Matt. He got me set up with the Cerakote color of my choice (Satin Aluminum), cleaned and bead blasted the slide and applied the Cerakote.
After getting it all put together and running the slide, you wouldn't believe how smooth it feels.
Between the stippling job and the Cerakote, it really does feel like a whole new gun. I am really happy with the way it turned out and wanted to share with the INGO community... esp the Glock lovers.
I want to throw out a big thank you to Bowling_R and BHPSS for an incredible job! Thanks guys!
