I'm just curious, but has anyone had any experience with the SPHINX 9mm pistols from Switzerland? You can check them out here: Home

I'd be curious as to how the handle/shoot? How accurate they are? Good/bad on performance? Etc. Anyone had any experience they would be willing to share? Thank you!

Holy cow! I've never heard of them, but they're quite attractive. Would love to hear some reviews and prices on the Subcompact and Compacts!

These are considered to be the premier clone of the CZ 75. Most of the parts were/are made by Tanfoglio in Italy makers of the Witness models. They are then assembled in Switzerland. They are known for having exceptional slide to frame fit and their finished machining is top notch. The issue of course is the price. The 9mm versions are well over a grand. For that price you could have a fully customized Shadow. So they are essentially really nice Tanfoglio's and there aren't too many people that are going to pay that much for one of those. You won't see too many CZ folks salivating over one. I have held one of the .380s that I saw at a gun show. They're nice, just not nice enough to be worth that much coin. IMHO

They are not unobtainable. Im a distributor in Noblesville. We have sold about 10 so far. NICE pistols. Think CZ P07 on steroids. It has a very crisp trigger, metal mid frame, and a new twist on TFO night sights. Amazing guns.

You wouldn't happen to have a 3000 laying around, would you?

Oh, your talking about the polymer clones? Yes, I guess those are more easily obtained. I assume from your post that you have shot them and like them? Also, what is the ballpark price for one?

There are older imports of Sphinx pistols that can be found available which are in the hands of collectors around the country. They were imported by Sile Distributors which started out incorporating in Ossian, Indiana, then moved and did business from their locations in New York City and Meriden, CT where they distributed from until they closed down.
These guns belonged to a friend of mine who sold most his collection over the last couple of years, and which were originally bought directly from the owner of Sile.
He had a 2000P compact with a palladium finish that I had never even heard of palladium before. But I ended up finding out that it's a precious metal that resembles platinum and currently costs over $700 per ounce, about 1/2 the price of platinum.
Here's some Sphinx eye candy. They have beautiful stainless finishes and generally very nice workmanship.
Any reasonably priced Sphinx pistol will usually sell quickly after being listed on Gunbroker.

Very nice pistols but a bit expensive. I've shot a friend's early 9mm and it is extremely accurate. That cased set with all the slides and barrels is awesome!!!!

When I bought my Les Baer Custom .45, I looked at the Sphinx as well, but at the end I choosed the Les Bear and it is very accurate too.
