I bought my LC9 OTD for 325 at the valpo gun show last year. I like it and all, but just seen a guy who has a 3913 for trade and wants an LC9. What are your guy's thoughts.
I have the 4506-1 love it and I know I would like this as well. From a price stand point the LC9 has dropped as the smith has gone up. Anyone have any issues with the Alloy frames? I prefer the all steel on my smiths, but wouldn't hesitate if the consensus is good.

I currently carry a 3913. Built like a tank and a great trigger. I'd make the trade in a flash. I traded my PF-9 for the Smith.

That entire series of S&Ws have become very collectable; hit it like a heat seeking missile. A 3913 in very good condition can easily cost $600; more if it has the original box and papers.

I just bought a 5903. So far so good. Just put 100 downrange today. Beautiful gun and I went alloy on purpose (had choice of 5906) for the lighter weight. Lots of LC9's on the market....not sure why.

Do it before he changes his mind! The 3913 will weigh a little more, but oh, my, will it ever shoot better (assuming it's all there!) - and that's really what it's all about, isn't it?

Uhh, who exactly wants to trade? :)
Just kidding, the 3913 is on my list. I had one years ago and like a DUMB^$$ sold it off. I have a S&W 908S now but it is a far cry from the 3913. Jump on it and run like the wind!

I have owned a 3913 and I have shot an LC9 at the range a couple of times. I would make this trade as fast as I could. In fact, I think I have a magazine that will fit that 3913 if you need an extra one.

I sent him pics last night. He is interested and his comes with 3 mags, so I may hit you up to make it an even number. When I bought my 4506-1 2 yrs ago I paid 475. I see them hitting just a tad over 5 now on GB, My wife doesn't like the LC9 loved the 5906 I had and enjoys my 4506-1. I'm hoping to hear good word back today if need be will make an indy run just to seal the deal. I love the 3rd gen smiths, but I think I can live with looking at the slight color variation of the alloy frame. I do prefer the wider grip vs the thin grip the LC9 has. It is a great shooter for me at least, but seen the post and figure clear it with the boss before proceeding.

Its a deal if I throw in 100 rounds of 9mm. I just got into reloading so its a done deal if he seconds it.

I have two mags sitting on one of my cabinets in the gun room. I am certain the one is a double stack compact third gen mag and I think the other one is a full size third gen mag which would work at the range.

Still waiting for his reply. Getting kinda sleepy got off work at 7am after a long day at the railroad. To me the ammo he wants to try and boost the price to equal status is expendable.

I found this on the S&W forum. Helps decode the model numbers for the 3rd Gen.

    10xx 10mm
    22xx .22 rimfire
    39xx 9mm single stack
    40xx .40 caliber
    45xx .45 caliber
59xx 9mm double stack full size
    69xx 9mm double stack compact

    xx0x TDA full size
    xx1x TDA compact
    xx2x Frame decocker full size
    xx3x Frame decocker compact
    xx4x DAO full size
    xx5x DAO compact
    xx6x TDA mid size
    xx7x Frame decocker mid size
    xx8x DAO mid size
    xx9x Non standard combination

    xxx3 Alloy frame silver

There are also some 3rd gen guns that have just 3 numbers. They include the econo-line and some PC .45's.
