This is my list of what I believe the rarest Glocks in order. I'm going by what I've seen the least of. Feel free to renumber them or add any that I may have missed. I'm hoping to some day add a few for these to my collection.

    1] Glock 35 C (only 3 made - law enforcement prototype)

2] Glock P9M (Made especially for German Anti-Terrorism forces)

    3] Gen1 Glock 17 L PORTED (ported not compensated)

4] Glock 19 Gen1 (I believe that there were some actually made and not copped 17's)

    5] Glock 17 Gen1

    6] Glock 24 PORTEDGlock

    7] Glock 31 and 32 Gen2

    8] Glock 31 RTF2 and Glock 32 RTF2 (No gills)

    9] Glock 21 C Gen2.

10] Glock 23 C RTF2G (the "G" after RTF2 refers to gills, as there were many RTF2s that did not come with gills)

    11] Glock 22 C RTF2G

    12] Glock 21 SF RTF2 (No gills)

13] Glock 21SFP (with ambi. safety and pictinny rail, These were recalled and replaced with different versions by Glock)

    14] Glock 19 RTF2G

    15] Glock 19 RTF2 (No Gills)

    16] Glock 23 RTF2G

    17] Glock 22 RTF2G

    18] Glock 17 RTF2G

I didn't include the Glock 18 because I don't consider them rare, just not obtainable to us.

Nice list OP :yesway: I wouldn't mind adding a few of those to my Glock stable

    17] Glock 22 RTF2G

And the "G" refers to the curved "fish scales" (or gills) style serrations on the slide and not the standard straight serrations?

I have a G22 RTF2 with the regular straight serrations, but i do know my way around an end mill if the gills are that rare

Why is a Glock 19 gen 1 rare?

Well, not to state the obvious, but "because there aren't very many of them". ALL Gen-1 Glocks are "rare", but some more than others. The 19 was a Gen 2 release.

I've never even seen a picture of a verifiable (numbers match) Gen-1 G19. Most are Gen-1 17s with chopped frames and Gen-2 slides.

they only imported a few hundred Gen 1 glock 19's back in the 80's
Gen 1 being the smooth frame gun.

    Many people confuse the Gen2 19 for a Gen1

That pic is a chopped 17 frame.

EDIT: Apparently, even the "prototypes" from Glock were chopped 17s.

Only a few dozen 1st generation 19s were made. These were prototypes made for the ATF as prerelease examination samples. They were made by placing a block in the dust cover area of a 17 mold to make the dust cover shorter. The magazine wells were hand cut at the factory from the 17 to 19 length. These pistols would have been marked with a 5 digit serial number with a “J” as the first digit which denotes a prototype.

    I need one of these:

    14] Glock 19 RTF2G

If these exist, I want one:

4] Glock 19 Gen1 (I believe that there were some actually made and not chopped 17's)

RTF2 guns are not that rare with gills, especially the 22. The rarest RTF2 I've seen to date is a 23C RTF2 with gills. I would put FDE 19, 20, and 21 over most of the RTF models these days. 24C I've seen at gander a few times. Also add the OD G29 to the list as well. The P9M is one Ive not heard of before…

    Ill own a gen1 19 one day...

Wow I have a 23C RTF2G . Didn't know it was a rare glock model . To bad I shaved the finger groves ,under cut the trigger guard and stippled it.

Go freakin figure :): never planned on selling it anyway .

So I picked up a like new 17 RTF with gills today for $450, I thought it was a rarer version but it sounds like not so much? Did I just pay $450 for a Glock 17 and that's pretty much what it's worth?
