Best place to find a taller 1911 front sight

Like it says I just need a taller sight post. Also who around Hamilton count installs them.

What type of gun is it for? Everybody's assuming it is a Novak which may not be the case and may impact your options.

I'll assume it's an older gun and not dovetailed like the Wiley Clapp version. Brownells offers a serrated blade replacement that is .195 which should be much taller than a standard series 70 front sight. You can always file it down if you need it shorter. You can also get a .250 high blank but you would have to have somebody shape and serrate it etc.

its risky. I dont think I would do my first practice set on a Kimber

Especially since a hydraulic press may be needed to push the sights out the first time.
