Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and thought I'd pick your brains for some opinions.

I picked up a Sig 210-5 a few weeks ago. The internet doesnt have much info on them. Does anyone have any experience with this model?

Blue book puts it a $1000. I had J&J in Columbus look at it and they agreed.

Not sure what I'm gonna do with it. Might take it to the next gun show and see about trading it off.

    Any info/opinions would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Bruiser

In good condition, a SIG P210-5 should be twice that price.
You have the target version of one of the most accurate production 9mm precision target pistols available.

You will shortly receive a barrage of comments from combat style shooters proclaiming that their pistols are as accurate at a third of the price. The P210-5 is a target pistol, not a combat style pistol. They are correct, for combat style shooting the P210-5 would not be the best choice. (I enjoy combat shooting regularly - but for target work more precise instruments are nice to have)

IF you appreciate finer craftsmanship and hand-fitting, and are willing to pay the premium for quality, the P210 is worth the investment.

    The P210 9mm and 22, I think.
    The SIG/Hammerli P240 had 22, 32, 9mm, 30 luger, and 38 special variants, I think.

The SIG P210-5 has a barrel that extends past the slide with the front sight sleeved to the barrel.

Mine isn't as nice as the previous pictures, but here it is. The sight on the barrel is threaded on. It is very tight , with no play in the slide. Trigger pull is a crisp 2 pounds. I have to say that the Swiss sure do make a smooth pistol. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 1967.

    79Bruiser,

Target pistols need not be pretty - just accurate and reliable.
67 vintage will be more interesting to some and less to others.
Personally, I admire the look of firearms of that era.

I still believe that the value of that particular P210-5 should be over $1500.
You might ask the folks at the SIG FORUM. SIGforum.com --A discussion forum for SIG enthusiasts
There are some P210 experts there.

This reminds me that I have not shot my P210(-6) in a while.
