I'm on the hunt for a glock 17 gen 4. I found a full fde g17 at a lgs(585$). I also found a used black g17 from a private party(450$). Can't decide which way to go. I really dig the fde, but with the extra cash saved by buying the black one I could buy new sights and maybe some ammo.
    What to do ingo?

I would go black then add the night sights. If you still want the FDE then you can have it done and select certain pieces to leave black so it isn't like every other factory FDE Glock. Myself, I like the two tone look instead of the full FDE. If you ever intend to resell it in the future the color probably won't matter much.

Take the Black one. The FDE color is cool, but in a time of need the color won't matter. I have passed up the FDE in the past because most people that have them for sale used think they are worth more than a new one because it'd "RARE" (you have to say it in a mysterious voice)

Save the cash and buy ammo and possible sights. A light would almost come before sights.

do you want the fde one bad enough to pay and extra $135 + taxes over the black one? If you have the moneyz and you want the fde one, get it. Otherwise I agree with the other posters.

Save the $$ and get the black. Then you can still duracoat it FDE if you want. I'll try to post some pics of my G20 later tonight. Painted the frame Magpul FDE while the slide is Leoupold Brown.

If you do decide to FDE your glock, I would only do the slide.

Whenever I've seen the frame done, they have to put it on way to thick to make it not "splotchy", and this makes it look uglier then hell.
