My gunsmith and I finally got the 38 Super long slide finished. It turned out really nice. He helped me put it together and did the checkering/jeweling. Anybody else built a 1911 with the Caspian frame and slide? It is very accurate and soft shooting. I own alot of 45's but enjoy shooting the 38 Super for a change. Any other 38 Super fans out there? I figure Churchmouse will appreciate this one.

    Great looking longslide.:ar15:
I have a couple of 38 supers on para ordnance frames. 21 rounds of super is a good thing in USPSA.
I have seen some at IDPA matches.
One match there were three 38 supers on a squad.
None were as nice as yours although you can't use that in IDPA, it would be great at a Steel match.

I've got a couple of Colts in .38 Super. I don't take 'em out to play much because of the cost of the ammo. They're babied and well taken care of though.
    I am a fan

That is what kept me away from the .38 super. When you can find brass, it is almost as costly as ammo for 9mm. Shooting wise, I think it would be a good choice, it has been around a long time.

I have two other 38 Supers, a 60's lightweight commander and a 100 yr anniversary bright stainless from the Custom Shop. Got lucky and stumbled into 800 rnds of 38 super couple years ago so I can reload.

I really like the 38 Super, shot this one I built for NRA Action Pistol for quite a few years...
