Cerakote...... How durable is it. Pondering getting a Glock slide done. Anyone good in Indy that does it? 2nd question.... Underwood ammo.... Anyone in Indycstock it? Llooking for extreme penatrators in 10mm and 357 Sig.... Thanks
When I got this Model 12 S&W it was in very roughshape, was a suicide gun that hadn't been cleaned up properly. I had it repaired and Cerakoted and the new finish has done very well. The gun is normally pocket carried in a leather pocket holster. Very happy with the finish
I have had AllenM cerakote 3 guns for me. All 3 guns are used for competition shooting. Are in and out of the holster a lot. No wear on any of them yet. Cerakote is very durable.
Did you have some work done on the Glock slide that it needs refinished, or are you wanting a change of color?
Cerakote will wear. I have had Allen do a couple of Glocks. I had him do a melt job on the slide of a Glock 19 for me, so it needed to be refinished. It is not a gun I carry daily currently.
The other was a Glock 26 that had some wear, and I had him do it while he was going to have the process already going on the 19. The 26 gets carried daily in a hybrid IWB, and it has some wear spots on the cerakote finish from the kydex. That said, i have that gun on me almost all the time, including while fishing, doing other work outside sweating, out in the rain, etc. So it has earned that wear.
