![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I had a similar negative impression from handling one at the 1500. I am quite a SIG fan, but really only have experience with the classic DA-SA P-series pistols. I have never been a big fan of any polymer pistols - I admit there is nothing functionally wrong with them but I just don't like the feel. I wound up deciding I would have to shoot one before making up my mind because I know I have a "prejudice" if you will against polymer handguns. FWIW, that prejudice has sometimes proven wrong - for instance a buddy recently let me shoot his XD and it shot beautifully for me. Not entirely sure where I am going with this ramble, but I guess I would suggest you suspend judgement until you can get a chance to shoot a P250. Sometimes we get accustomed over the years to the way "quality" feels, and with new manufacturing techniques and new technologies, sometimes our gut sense of quality can be wrong. Shoot one a bit and I think you will know, though. Maybe an INGO member will meet you at a range for a test drive some time. I wonder if Popguns has any P250s for rent at their range?

| Always Out-Numbered Never Out-Gunned ![]() | I don't think I can buy a P250. I'm a big Sig Fan, but that gun would be too expensive. I mean, I'd have to buy every combination of interchangeable parts for it then I'd just be flat broke... Anyone want to donate to my ordnance fund? ![]()

In the private sector, I think you'll find more people like me who will just buy the whole gun rather than the parts to change it out with. But then again, I still consider myself a newb at all of this, so I may be completely off base there.

![]() | Besides the interchangeable grips and caliber with the P250, what are the differences between the 229 chambered in 9mm. If I recall there is about a $100 or so difference between the two? Correct me if I am wrong on that but I am just trying to gather some input on the differences between these two Sigs so I can get on down to the shop and bring her home. |

P250: DAO - same trigger pull (about 6 lbs) every time. P229: DA/SA - 10 lb pull the first time, 4-5lb pull every time after. P250: 25 oz. w/mag P229: 32 oz. w/mag P250: standard mag holds 15 rounds P229: standard mag holds 10 or 13 rounds. I haven't shot the P229, but I think I've looked at it a couple of times, so all of that is from SIG's website. Isn't the P229 a metal frame pistol, too? The P250 is a polymer shell with a stainless insert.
