    Looking to buy my first 1911. That being said, I'm having trouble making a decision. With so many different makes and models, I really need some imput.

    It really begins with the budget and then the purpose. Without either, I assume that money is unlimited and that you want this for EDC. I'll recommend a Dan Wesson, Ed Brown or Wilson if money is not a concern. If it is, let us know the budget and we can help a bit.

    Since you didn't put a top end in your post, I assume budget is not in the equation. So I would recommend the Wilson Combat CQB. I would get one if I had the money.

    Me.
    Newer ones are just pretty.
    Others will Boo-Hoo this opinion and I am OK with that.
    If you are going to spend north of 1K look at Springfield TRP's or a used Dan Wesson.
    South of 1K look at the Springer loaded series. Damn nice guns.
