I wouldn't/didn't describe it as "wet" but rather as uncured. Think of paint that is partially dry. It has a somewhat tacky feel. Its not wet. Its not actually dry. But after it is no longer 'tacky' to the touch, it is still not fully hardened. It is no longer soft, it appears to be dry, but really it is not. While it has not cured completely it does not have the lubricity that a cured finish has. Heck the same with concrete, it takes about a month before concrete is fully cured and has reached its full strength. Paint finishes are similar. I tried to shoot my gun within 72 hours of being refinished. That is USER ERROR and not a problem with the gun or the gun's finish.

"Wet" is completely different. "Dirty" is completely different. Even "muddy" is completely different.

I carry a Kahr CW-40 (And I highly recommend Kahr's CW line of pistols to anyone!) in a High Noon Holsters Split Decision.

My brand spanking new S&W 642 will be here this week. I'll be carrying that one soon enough.

Sounds like your Para wouldn't run in any of those conditions.

I don't even understand how you can make that statement, it certainly is not based on anything I wrote.

Its dirty now and it runs. I've shot it during a rain storm and it ran. I have to admit that I've never dumped it in the mud, run over it with car while on a sand dune or otherwise abused it. But I honestly think you are are making a totally illogical leap with your statement. Go back and carefully reread the statements I wrote, that gun is a 100% gun right now, it only had problems while the new finish was not fully cured. It ran perfectly before the finish and runs perfectly again.

Why don't you run a test and take one of your guns, duracoat it and then before it cures see if it works flawlessly. I'd venture to say that some guns may, but many will not. Now wait for that duracoat to fully cure and the gun will very likely run fine again (presuming it ran before it was coated). What is so hard to understand about the fact that some gun finishes take time to cure before their reach their highest levels of hardness and lubricity?

In the cold weather I carry my Glock 33 in a Fobus ankle holster, my KelTec P3AT in a Fobus Ankle holster or the Glock in a paddle holster. In the warm weather I carry the KelTec in a Fobus paddle holster. Both are very reliable and have quite a few rounds through them.

I now carry (day two with my LTCH) an M&P subcompact .40. Need to find a holster that works for me, though.

Well, I bought a PF9 to carry but it's not as easy as my Glock 26. To be perfectly honest, I don't actually carry either one of them but I bought a holster for my Glock so I could carry it. Right now, I'm not comfortable carrying. You have to remember that I hated guns up until about 4 years ago. My whole outlook on things changed when my family started taking karate. A whole lot of things changed for me at that time and guns is one of them. We even recently purchased an AR. Also, not that it should matter, but I am a woman.

It would be interesting to hear about your transition, if you felt like sharing sometime. In another thread, of course.
