Over a year ago, I asked about this Colt 1911: https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...t-can-you-guys-tell-me-about-colt-1911-a.html
At the time, my father was more interested in the history of the handgun.

Would anyone here know what the value of it would be?

There are more pictures in the thread I linked above.

Looks like about $850 to $1000 if you really want to sell it or you can list it for $2500 and sit on it for the next ten years. Good time to sell before CMP dumps the surplus on the market. O

I dont know what its worth, but it sure is pretty. Rough, but elegant.

If you REALLY want to know what it is worth, assuming for insurance purposes because you wouldnt sell a family heirloom, right????? :bat:

Pony up the $100 for the history (per the other thread). Small price to pay to know its true history.

Without a hands on look to confirm components I'll value it around $1,500.
Minimum of $1,200 and as high as $1,800.
I've watch two sell lately for more than that.
I figure it's worth what someone will pay for it.

Not a family heirloom, no sentimental value. Just an old gun my dad owns that's pretty cool.

    .
Really tough to tell from the photos as marking and condition can be everything with these guns. Bottom dollar on GB would be about $1K today, you really need to have it examined by somebody good with 1911A1 history.

Gunbroker will be your best option, but a lot of people myself included would not buy that expensive of a firearm from someone that has no feedback.
I will not buy or sell to anyone on GB without a feedback of at least 5 on the more expensive stuff I sell from time to time.
    Cheaper stuff is non issue.
