I'm not looking to start a debate on laser vs night sight, etc, plenty of those out there with good points on both sides.

I'm going to put a light laser combo on a g23. The C5L fits nicely under the barrel. The x5l has considerably more light, but does protrude beyond the barrel on a subcompact. Can you think of a problem with the light sticking out beyond the barrel?

FWIW, this is primarily a bedside safe kind of gun that will rarely be carried. Concealability and holster availability isn't really a concern.

I use a C5L on a SAR K2 .45 as a bedside weapon. It works well and the light is good for inside the house. The only disadvantage I see is the batteries must be replaced every six to nine months even if you don't use the Viridian often.
