![]() | Glock 27 and 26 I am looking at buying a present for my fiance and have been doing some research. I am learning but still have some questions I can not find the answer to. I have noticed that you are able to convert a Glock 27 to a 9mm but have not found any definite answer on whether or not you can convert a Glock 26 to a .40. If anyone knows anything it would help! Thanks! ![]() |

At that point, you might as well buy a new gun.

| Marksman | I actually traded a 26 in for a 27 several years ago, so you know how I feel about this issue. One thing to consider (which I did, and still went with the 27) is that the .40 subcompact is very "snappy" to shoot - there is quite a bit of muzzle flip involved. And there is a very noticible difference in this regard between the 9mm and the .40 cal. I believe the 27 is still a very controllable gun, and I recently made it a present to my girlfriend for her to use as her daily carry gun, but it really is an issue to consider. With .40 loads, it wears her out a little at the range. That's another reason to consider the 9mm barrel and mags for the conversion - besides the price of ammo.

![]() | i have the 27. love every minute of it. there is some muzzle flip. but very controllable. my mom has no trouble shooting it. but it is very snappy as gun lawyer said. but ide go with the 27 for her. that way u can always go down to the 9 if she doesnt like the .40 |
