![]() ![]() ![]() | Sharp Edges on New Ruger MK III Hey All, I'm concerned about the knife edge sharp edges around the ejection port on my MK III Hunter. Clearing a stove pipe could cause loss of an appendage. I'm thinking a smooth flat file but don't want to screw it up. Maybe a Dremel tool to buff the sharp edge smooth. Or should I give it to a professional gunsmith? I always get good advice so I'm looking for help again. Thanks in advance. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if you have a white stone (fine grit) for sharpening knifes, you can use it. But an emory board is better, it is constant and flat. Just take it nice and slow, it won't take much!

I bought three of them at Hobby Lobby for different grit sizes. Basically it's a fat pencil shaped jig that holds a 1/4" wide loop of emery/sandpaper. It's the perfect tool for the job.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I drew a little blood on the rear of the receiver when slowly lowering the bolt home. I need to do some fine emery paper work to my Ruger MKIII, too.

![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the tip. The tool is Excel Sanding Stick 55700. Made in USA for $4.49. 5 assorted grit sanding belts sell for $8.99. Got mine today. Looks like it will work well. Quote:
