Nephew's New .22lr 1911 completed!

My oldest nephew's Christmas present is ready. It's a .22lr 1911 training pistol built on a Rock River frame and a Ciener .22 kit.

The weapon was assembled, finished, tweaked and bear coated by the fine gunsmiths at Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville, Tennessee, the patron state of shooting stuff. Thank you, Gunsmith Shannon and Gunsmith Bob! You will have a 12 year old very happy (and you made his uncle happy too).

The weapon functions like a sewing machine with hot loads such as Stingers and the hot Aguilla load. It functions less than optimally with the Federal or Remington Wal-Mart cartons. He just needs a .50 can full of Stingers.

I still need to snag some Ciener mags and a ammo can full of Stingers, but I'm on my way to making yet another Merry Christmas.

(And I realize that I need to build one for Uncle Kirk).
