![]() | I'd love to get a 1911, preferably a Colt, but correct me if I'm wrong: Doesn't the basic government model Colt go for around $900? If so, that's way too pricey for me. I know I could get a Springfield for less than that with more options. Still, a basic Colt is hard to resist. I just don't think I can swing the cost right now. I just called Elmores though and they have a Springfield Milspec for around $600. That's probably the one I'll consider. Bob at Plainfield has a GI Springfield for around $500, but I'd rather have the slightly smoother finish in the Milspec, as any .45 I buy will be my carry piece as well as target. I've also heard good things about Rock Islands and Tauruses, which are both closer to my price range. Last edited by snake-doctor; 10-14-2009 at 14:54. |
