The XD 40sc is a great little gun. The first time I shot one I center punched the target. You can get Pearce grip extensions for the 10 rd mags, and the 12 rd mag gives you a full size frame grip.

You'd be well off with anything mentioned so far. We all have our personal preferences; get what feels the most comfortable and fits your needs.

One of the best-carrying .40 S&W pistols out there, in my opinion, would be the Kahr CW-40 or their P-40.

Very thin, light, and 6+1 capacity.

They also have the PM-40 which is even smaller.

yes, they are down on capacity on the G-27 and the M&P...but they're MUCH thinner and lighter. Trade-offs on everything.

I agree on the G27. I'm sure there is a lot of stuff cheaper, but mine has been great. I also love the versatility with the different mags as I've posted on various threads here before...
