I had to think about this one.

SIG P226 (IMO one of, if not the best combat 9mm)
Browning Hi-Power (Arcus 94 comic book gun FTW!)
CZ-75 (there are two things Czechs know, that is beer and guns)
Beretta 92 (I wasn't a fan of Berettas until I bought a 92FS on whim and loved it)
Glock 17 (no explanation needed)
H&K P7M8 (to squeeze one is to love one)
M&P 9 (liked it a LOT more than I thought I would)
............. the rest are also rans in my book. I am not a fan of Kahrs, XDs, or USPs or any polymer framed HK for that matter. The P7 was the best gun HK ever put out IMO and I am glad I have one (had two, but sold one because I needed money more than I needed a brace of P7s).

Funny thing is I don't currently own a P226, but I had one in .40/.357 (both barrels) and loved the gun, but wasn't thrilled with the calibers (I don't like .40 and .357 is too expensive). I would love the get one in 9mm sometime, but I don't have the funds right now.

Now if this was a list for best .45s. That would look like:

1911
1911
1911
1911
Glock 21
1911

Same here. My XD is new and I'm really lovin' it right now. Just got it yesterday and put 50 rounds through it. I haven't shot anything that feels that good in awhile. My Glock 19 is also good....I'm just a little infatuated with my new gun at the moment.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I found the Glock and the XD to be comparable. I chose the XD because I liked the way it fit my hand better. I recognize that the Glock has a history of reliability that the XD is still too new to have matched, however, which is why I have both.
