![]() ![]() | 1911- Half Cock or Cocked and Locked? Being from the eastern woodlands, I spent many a days toting a lever action ever since my time as a youngster. And basically pretending the stupid lever action hammer block safeties never existed, I always kept the hammer on half cock until ready to fire. Now that I own and carry a 1911, it seems natural for me to carry the same way. So, is this a bad practice or a not so good of a practice as the cocked and locked? Or do others carry the same way?
