![]() | Phoenix Arms I was just wondering if anybody has thoughts on the Phoenix Arms HP22. Basically I'm just looking for a cheap .22LR plinking pistol, definitely not something I would depend on to save my life one day. I just want an inexpensive plinking pistol chambered in .22 so I can shoot a little more on my property and save some money on ammo costs while I'm at it. Any one own one or ever shot one? I thought it looked a little more attractive than the Rugers, Berettas, and other similar .22 semi-autos. |

![]() | I have had 1 for years and love it. It is a great little handy weapon for plinking. It is small and carries very well and shoots quite acurate for a short barreled .22. Cons. The safeties are a pain. I can never remember from each shooting session which one needs to be on or off to remove the mag. But it all comes back after a couple mag changes. |

![]() | If it were me I'd look into another brand honestly. I owned one for awhile, it was nice when it worked. I was usually lucky to get 2 mags through it without a jam. The finally straw came when the slide broken in half after shooting some stingers through it. I think there are much better .22s out there IMO. |

I agree, I also owned an HP22. Mine never broke but the safeties were a pain and the mags were very unreliable. | |

![]() | I just used loc tite on the top safety - had to replace the mag release button once but customer service was very responsive and got a new one with instructions to me right away. Hey, it's not a Buckmark but you probably knew that going in. |
