![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Range Report: So I got a chance to put 60 rounds thru the 19 with its new grip modification. Overall I would say I'm VERY impressed. I didn't have much time, so I was shooting at a standard bulls-eye target from 15 feet. I started with a few draw and fire drills. My very first shot was dead center, right in the middle of the 10-ring. The remaining shots were uneventful as I tore out the entire 10-ring eventually. As AllenM once said "it was boringly accurate". But, I was there just to get a "feel" for the grip. The first thing I noticed was that my grip on the gun seemed much tighter, with fewer 'gaps'. I credit this to the removal of the finger grooves. They always seemed to spread my fingers too far apart. Now my fingers locked on there tight and didn't move, thanks to the rougher surface. I also felt as though I wasn't shifting my grip after each shot like I used to. It was therefore easier to get back on target for follow-up shots. I could also focus on other things, like breath control and trigger reset. One-handed shots had the same improvement. And here are my two "cons": 1) Although the stippling feels great in the hand, it does not feel so great against the bare skin on my side. I've already decided its time to trade in the Infidel for an MTAC. 2) If I had it to do over again, I would not have it stippled so high up on the backstrap. After shooting today there was some minor irritation on the web of my shooting hand. This was caused by the recoil snapping the gun back and rubbing against that part. It was not awful by any stretch, but in retrospect I would've been just as pleased to have the stippling come straight across the backstrap. (see pic) ![]()

| alpha-mike-no shoot | I was wondering how that would be with the beavertail stippled like that. The web of a persons hand is a pretty sensitive piece of skin. On top of that, I don't see the need to have really awesome grip in that area. That's not the part of the hand that is doing the gripping on the gun. |

Re: #2: The stippling on the web. I recommend talking to Cory first, but you might find that some 400 grit sand paper or an emery board might "take the edge off" On the USP Tactical I found the front and rear of the grips were very sharp. A quick buff with some sand paper made a night and day difference. You might find the same.

![]() ![]() | evan, i believe we discussed the stippling on the b-tail. now we know. i agree with lars that you talk to cory first, but i believe his reply #2 has merit. a bit of 400 used in a "shoe shine" motion should work. take a bit and try. you can always remove more, but putting it back is really a bitch.

| BOFH ![]() | On an unrelated note. I know it's not quite blood, but it simulated very wet hands well... I coated my hands in waterless hand sanitizer yesterday and did a number of draw strokes from the holster. The P30 is as tacky in the hands while soaked as it is dry. I guess I'm going to have to try with something a bit more thick next time.

![]() | Good information on the stippling height on the backstrap. The couple I've done I went straight across for fear of exactly what you were talking about. I haven't received any feedback from the customer whether he wanted to go higher or not. I agree on the undershirt idea-it will help but won't be very nice in the summer. I'll post a pic of the G30 I just did if I can. |
