![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Help Me Pick a 1911 Help me pick a 1911. Price is somewhat flexible $500-$800. I'm a RH shooter. Requirements: Full size .45 caliber Non adjustable sights No Taurus No Para Ordinance **SUGGESTIONS, PICTURES, EXPERIENCES, ALL APPRECIATED** Also, I was looking at some Smith and Wessons and was curious how they stack up against Springfield Armory, Kimber, Colt? My dealer has a few new 1911s in stock: Smith and Wesson - SW1911PD $730, or SS for $790 Springfield Armory - G.I. 45 $510 How are those prices? |

![]() ![]() | Will this pistol serve a particular purpose, range, protection, etc? There are things I personally like about each one so honestly your best bet is to feel each brand out. If you looking for more semi custom features Kimber has the edge at that price range. S&W is suppose to be an excellent model but I'm not up to date on prices. If you were interested and lived close to me I have a Kimber TLE II that I'd be willing to sell. |

![]() | If you are going to keep it forever or plan on adding your personal touches, skip the RIAs, Armscors, and Charles Dalys. They might work fine, but if they don't, you'll be turned off 1911's forever. I won't buy a Kimber, either. The Springfield Loadeds and on up are good bets. I would get a Colt. The Series 70 Reproduction or an XSE. My next pistol is going to be the Colt Combat Elite Reproduction. Next on my list would be a Les Baer. |
