Looks like they go for $499





It's the right size for a third/fourth carry gun at least.

I recall that gun being shown off at SHOT Show back about 2000 or 2001, then it kinda just disappeared.

More recently, I read a statement online to the effect that the Downsizer Corp. was a fraud from the get-go, and that no guns were ever produced beyond the prototype (if it even functioned). Check out the fraud advisory on Auction Arms:

Beware of any seller using Downsizer Corporation, Downsizer, Daniel Chapman, in his correspondence post sale.

We've disabled several accounts this fraud has set up using straw man names Dougden, Nutcracker, Amadeus, Bradford, Bayard1908 (most recently "JimSmith") usually using another individual's address and credit card. He then sends post auction notes like -

"Congratulations, you were high bidder on the XXXXX. Please send $XXX.00 and FFL or C&R to:

If you receive any post auction communication asking you to pay Downsizer, Downsizer Corporation or Daniel Chapman, please do not send any money to this fraud and notify AuctionArms staff immediately.

He is currently being reported to the FBI ICC, the PostMaster General, the State Attorney Generals of several States and the local Law Enforcement Agencies in and around Santee, CA.

That's too bad.

While I wasn't personally interested in paying $500 for a gun that does NOT look like a lot of fun to shoot. The Size/format of the gun lends itself well to carrying when just about everything else isn't an easy option.

Here's to hoping someone with real business sense will pick up the idea and run with it.

I wonder how the size compares to the P3AT and LCP, etc. I don't think I like the idea of only 1 shot.

How about I just take a ballpean hammer and hit my hand really hard. Hell, at least then I would have the hammer to continue the fight with.

You miss with this thing and not only are you out a gun, but a hand for effectively striking with as well.

Perhaps you actually use it by getting your attacker to fire it to disable their hand?
