Star PD help

I have a Star PD that I bought back in 1984. The one weak point they have is the Recoil Buffer. These are just plastic and keep the gun from beating its self to death but they need replaced often.

I had a toolmaker make me one out of brass but I can't slip it over the recoil spring guide like I can the plastic ones.

Anyway trying to play Amatuer gunsmith I broke a piece off of the recoil spring guide washer. It is still attached but about 1/5 of it is now missing. I am still unsure how this whole assembly comes apart.

This shows a breakout from the gun.

What I need help with is finding a replacement for my broken part and an idea on how that assembly comes apart so I can fix it once I find the part.

Thanks for any and all help.

BloodEclipse, if you find any let me know I've not been able to find any recoil buffers, and I would like to find another barrel also, I've been afraid to shoot mine cause of lack of parts the Star PD is what my old department issued as off duty guns back in the mid 80's. One of our reserves had bought one, then when he left he sold it to me for $75.00.

Jack First is where I got my recoil buffers I should call them to find out if they have the recoil spring guide washer.

I was in the Navy when I got mine. My wife and I lived in a townhouse and our neighbors got broke into. I rigged up and alarm system, but since I spent a fair amount of time out to sea, I wanted her to have some type of protection. I settled on the Star PD because it was easy for her to shoot and the .45 wasn't likely to penetrate the walls and kill the neighbors.
I saw one at the Fort Wayne gun show awhile back and it was selling for $250, but finding parts for it seems much harder.

Yeah, I know their not high priced, I'd read somewhere that when the company that made the star's closed they destroyed everything they had in stock. I had the barrel on my off duty split lengthways one time when I shooting it, look at how thin it is. So it would be nice to have 1 or 2 extra.

I'm going to the Indy 1500 and plan on looking around. You never know what you can find.
