First, I tried it out and my very non-scientific recoilometer (my shoulder) guesstimated the felt recoil to be at half or less than that of the standard A2 flash hider that came on my Spike's 16" mid-length upper.
Aidan (my 9 year old) shot the AR for the very first time today. He looks a little worried/unsure at the end of the video but he ended up shooting 5 more rounds later. He is pretty excited to get his build finished up now.

My sister also shot an AR for the first time today as well. I did notice while recording from her 3 o'clock position, the percussion was pretty solid. I could feel it taking the air from my chest. It didnt seem a lot louder, just more percussion if that makes sense. I did not think to sit at the bench next to her and see how it felt/sounded from there though. The sound and percussion seemed lower than normal while standing behind the shooter. She did pretty good with it. She now wants to shoot at an Appleseed but has absolutely no interest in trying it in the cold so we will have to wait until spring.

Over all, I like it, I am very happy with it, it looks nice, it was inexpensive, it works, I will buy at least one more, and I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a compensator on a budget.
