Thank you very much for allowing me to join this forum. I am hoping to learn more about how to sell a couple of my guns to raise some Christmas present money. I have never done this before and am a little worried about how the government apparently will still have the serial numbers registered in my name.

    First of all.....

    :welcome: ..... 2 ..... :ingo: .....

Second of all, there is NO registration in In.

So if your name is on a 4473, and you want to CYA, just require a Bill of Sale .....

I require an In., Dl., and a LTCH .....

The State does the background check for you .....

Simple measures to make you "feel" like you are doing your part .....

Indiana driver's license- to make sure the person your selling to is a resident of the same state you live in.

LTCH licence to carry a handgun- Indiana's permission slip to carry. Not necessary to sell to but a lot use it to confirm that they are not selling to a felon.

Is clicking the little "star"button below a post an appropriate way of saying thank you on this forum?

Or, should I reply and say thank you each time? I am a fairly grateful fella.

No copy, just see it, and make sure they MATCH.....
I can understand why a buyer would not want me to have a copy of their DL and LTCH.

However, what about down the road, when hypothetically someone has used one of the guns in a crime?

How do I prove to Uncle Sam or his local authorities that I no longer own the gun(s)?
