Hi and welcome from another Bloomingtonian. I second everything Techres said. MCSports is the best gunshop in town and Andrew Stipp is wonderful to talk with and buy from. I am also a member at the Martinsville club and highly recommend it. They will not be open for new members until January, however, so you have some time to go as someone's guest and check it out.

Once again, thanks for the welcome. You guys do a very good job of making a gun/forum newbie feel welcome

My experience is pretty limited (I owned a Ruger 10/22 when I was younger, but I sold it before I went to college, something I'm regretting), but I'm really looking forward to getting going with this. Now I just need to get my gun license application submitted, and decide on what type of gun I'm going to get - I'm thinking a Glock 19 or an XD 9 - a reliable 9mm, to give me a chance to get familar with it before considering a larger caliber, as well as being able to get less expensive ammo for practice shooting.
