 | First gun purchase! I have spent the last four years in Denver but am back home in Indiana and am getting into deer hunting, so I just bought my first firearm: Ruger 77/44. After a lot of research and shopping around I decided it is great for whitetails out to 100 yard shots and also great for hog hunting and black bear protection when camping. I am putting a Nikon Prostaff 2x7x32 shotgun scope on it for hunting and range shooting as well. I have done some bird hunting in the past and my dad and his three brothers are big hunters so I am looking forward to join in, but I am also breaking tradition because my family has primarily hunted deer with shotguns. I am actually looking for someone in the Indianapolis area who reloads .44 mag ammo, preferably Hornady Leverevolution because I have heard it gives some pretty consistent accuracy out of the 77/44. So, if you or anybody you know loads .44 mag then let me know. |
