Anyone else think that having an Indiana CC permit should allow you to bypass the background check when purchasing a firearm? I know some states like North Carolina do this and I believe Indiana should join that movement and save paper.
The LTCH (AKA "Larry") did bypass the background check.
The solution is to lobby the General Assembly to allocate funds to enhance the ISP background check.
Like most everything else, it's a matter of money.
Everyone wants stuff and everyone wants someone else to pay for said stuff.
The better and cheaper solution is to repeal background checks.

Seconded.
Just because Indiana will issue you a LTCH doesn't mean you can pass a nics check
Indiana's LTCH doesn't have a monthly NICS check performed to ensure non-Prohibited status for holders like Kentucky's CCDW...does it?
At one time, years ago, if you produced your Indiana Carry Permit, there was no mandated background check, but that ended, and I don`t recall why.
Why don't we just end background checks entirely? We could give freedom a chance.

Only if they're already born.WHY DO YOU HATE WOMEN AND CHILDRENS?!?!?!?!?!

The NICS check is less stringent than the requirements for the LTCH.

Is this something a gun shop told you?
Here is the ATF letter to shred a little light on the gun shop smog: https://www.atf.gov/file/83766/download
